Where can I locate internal meters for domestic connections?

Upon written request and at the discretion of NIE Networks, consideration of an alternative position to site the mains fuse and metering equipment may be granted. 
 
Metering Positions shall not be acceptable Under Stairs, in Bedrooms, Toilets, Washrooms, Cellars, Boiler Rooms, Generator Rooms, and Fuel Stores, adjacent to Gas installations, or be more than 2 meters inside a building from an external wall. In damp, dirty, dusty and / or corrosive conditions the Customer will be expected to provide an IP54 rated non-metallic cabinet to contain metering equipment.
This list is not exhaustive and each meter position will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
