Apprenticeship - Metering Electrician

NIE Networks are currently recruiting for Metering Electrician Apprentices.

We have been training apprentices through our dedicated in-house facilities with experienced instructors for over 50 years.

What to expect as a Meter Electrician?

Meter electricians need excellent communication skills and work closely with
customers to install and maintain electrical connections and meters.

This requires an in-depth knowledge of both the domestic (home) and commercial
electricity systems.

The successful individuals have the opportunity to gain hands on technical and practical experience.  Apprentices participating in our accredited two year programme will work towards achieving a nationally recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering.

Entry requirements

  • To be 16 years old from the start date (7 September 2020)
  •  Hold, or expect to achieve 4 GCSE passes  (or equivalent) including Maths, English Language and a STEM related subject
