Power being restored to remaining electricity customers

NIE Networks emergency crews are working hard to restore power to the remaining 600 customers who are without electricity following Storm Ali.

Throughout today teams and equipment have been redeployed from the North and West into the worst hit areas in Mid Ulster and the South East. Teams are working on the remaining 300 faults. Around half of these faults are affecting single customers.

Local Incident Centres and emergency teams have been in place since early on Wednesday morning and responded quickly when the storm hit. These Incident Centres will stay open until all customers have power restored.

Storm Ali’s severe gusts of up to 90mph caused serious damage to the electricity network and left over 90,000 homes and businesses without power.

NIE Networks is reminding customers to never approach broken lines or damaged poles, and keep children and animals away - report damage to NIE Networks on ‪03457 643 643 and listen to recorded messages carefully
