Occasionally industrial and academic led innovation projects will seek NIE Networks’ input. To facilitate these projects we assess the benefit of our involvement and if appropriate will offer our time and advice to ensure that the project objectives align with the overall network strategy. This can include facilitating PhD’s and Final Year Projects and also includes cross industry projects such as:
HANDIHEAT aims to protect rural communities from energy price fluctuations and improve the social well being and quality of living throughout participating regions.
Innovate UK has supported new plans to bring the first ever ‘micro-grid’ to Northern Ireland.
Initiative within the SPIRE 2 project aimed at reducing the risk of low-income households being left behind in the transition to clean, integrated energy systems.
