Due to Storm Arwen there is a possibility of power cuts.

Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited (NIE Networks) is a member of the ESB Group of companies.  Our role is to maintain and extend the electricity infrastructure across Northern Ireland, connect customers to the network and ensure that our equipment is safe and reliable. We also provide electricity meters and metering data to suppliers and market operators.

NIE Networks utilises Geographic Information System (GIS) platforms to digitise and maintain the electrical network. GE Smallworld is used to record and display NIE Networks’ Geographic Network Information System (GNIS) overhead and underground assets against an Ordnance Survey map background.  GNIS is a core system used across NIE Networks business units to plan new works and record any additions or alterations to the electricity network.  G/Technology is used to update and maintain the High Voltage (HV) Schematic Diagrams. G/Technology includes NIE Network’s connected model which interfaces with the Network Management System (NMS). Therefore is critical that its records are maintained and updated within established timeframes and they comply with standard policies and procedures.

We currently have a requirement for an experienced Digital Cartographer initially based in our Craigavon Depot.  The successful candidate will report directly to the Asset System Owner and will have responsibility for updating and maintaining the HV Schematic diagrams with network information provided from various parts of the business working for NIE Networks.
