Power restoration continues after snow and wind

NIE Networks continues to work to restore power to around 600 properties in the Craigavon, Newry and Ballyclare areas.

Overnight engineers restored power to around 23,000 homes and businesses following the snow and wind which came through last night.

The NIE Networks’ Duty Incident Centre in Craigavon was operational throughout the night and managed to restore power to the majority of customers affected by power cuts. Local Incident Centres are also open in the worst hit areas – Craigavon, Newry and Ballyclare – and will be working to restore power as quickly as possible.

Our crews are using 4x4 vehicles however, difficult road and field conditions continue to hamper restoration efforts.

Sara McClintock, Communications Manager from NIE Networks, said, “We would remind customers to stay safe and never approach broken electricity lines. You can contact us on 03457 643643 or online at nienetworks.co.uk for more information.”
