The NIE Networks/QUB electric DeLorean will be sharing the stand with some our hardworking fleet vehicles and our apprentices will be demonstrating their jointing skills and talking about their career in the energy industry.
If you are thinking of extending the milking parlour, putting up a new shed or considering building your dream home, then come and visit our Connections Hub at the NIE Networks stand. Edel Creery, Connections Manager at NIE Networks, says Balmoral Show is a great time to talk to the rural community about the connections process.
“At NIE Networks, we aim to make the connections process as easy as possible for our customers, from application to energisation. Our skilled planners will host a Connections Hub at the show so if you want to discuss a current project or if you would like to know what’s involved, call in and have a chat. We’ve been connecting homes, businesses and communities to the electricity network for the last century, and we continue to offer our customers a service built on experience, skill and attention to detail.
“For any customer interested in installing renewable generation, we can take you through the process for connecting a range of large and small scale renewable technologies to the electricity network, and the challenges involved.”
The next few months will be a busy time for the farming community and NIE Networks will also be promoting safe working during Balmoral Show. Our safety engineers and overhead lines teams will be on hand to give valuable safety advice on how to keep safe when working near the electricity network and you can also enter the NIE Networks Farm Safety Quiz and Twitter competition to win some fantastic prizes. NIE Networks Tree Maintenance teams will be advising landowners and farmers on how to cut with care when trimming trees and cutting hedges.
Kevin McDowell, Head of Health, Safety and Environment at NIE Networks says putting safety first is vital. “We want everyone working near the electricity network to follow the basic safety guidelines and keep themselves and everyone on site safe. Come along to the NIE Networks stand for a chat with one of our safety experts, pick up some cab safety stickers for your vehicles and put safety first this spring!”
